TFG opens the door
to a successful retirement
by creating a strategy that:

  • Replaces your paycheck
  • Protects against paying too much tax on your IRA or 401(k)
  • Protects you against non-financial issues that could destroy your retirement
  • Balances managing your retirement and helping your parents or children

How do we accomplish this?

Through Purpose Based Asset Management. (“PBAM”).    Over the last 20 plus years, common wisdom has focused on what is known as Modern Portfolio Theory.  That diversification or “the pie chart method”, of spreading your investments between stocks and bonds will help protect you against large losses.

Here is the problem with the “pie chart method”, you need the markets to go up for you to have enough money to retire.  Unfortunately, using this theory, over the last 20 years the average investor has barely made a little over 2.34% while the S&P 500 earned close to 8%. **  In 2008, we saw a clear demonstration of how an investor cannot depend on asset allocation to protect their portfolio from sudden and significant losses.

The solution is Purpose Based Asset Management.  PBAM recognizes that in order to meet your financial needs over 15, 20 or 25 years requires multiple investment strategies.  Money that will be needed in the next 5 years should be invested differently than assets that won’t be needed for 15 or 20 years.   By using a combination of safe and risk investments, PBAM allows our clients to sleep at night knowing that their money will last through their retirement.

For those of you who will not retire for another 10, 15 or 25 years, multiple investment strategies allow you to participate in more of the market.  This provides greater diversity and more investment opportunities.  To learn more about our money managers click here
